News from Quebec

In this, our ninth year of competition, we had two participating Leagues most ably co-ordinated by Janet Wyman, Emilie Richer, and Ryan Snickars (of Dawson College) and Maureen Webster and Nancy McDougal (of LCC and Royal West, respectively).

In addition to the seven schools active this year, at least two others expressed an interest and will hopefully be joining us next year.

Loyola High, Royal West Academy, Marianopolis College and Dawson College faced off in the 2009 Quebec Championship Tournament. In very closely contested games, Marianopolis emerged the Quebec Champion, and prizes were awarded to the First and Second place teams.

Aside from the above League Co-Ordinators, I would also like to thank Alan Greig, Laine Frajberg and Jeff Freeman for assisting in judging, question reading and other tasks. The steadfast moral and financial support from Donna Varrica, Geoff Kloos, and Carey-Ann Pawsey (Dawson Public Relations), Ray Boucher and Paul Rastelli (Student Services) and Richard Filion (Director General of Dawson) is also greatly appreciated.
